Coronavirus: the textile sector affected by the epidemic, the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s recalls health measures

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has released a new note to remind textile companies of their obligation to apply all of the government's recommendations to curb the spread of covid-19 in the territory national.
This intervention by Minister Jonas Coffy came after employees and executives from the Caracol industrial park tested positive for coronavirus.
These cases of contamination have revived the debate on the decision taken by the State to reopen the factories in the middle of the health emergency in connection with the presence of the coronavirus on Haitian soil.
Following the announcement of the presence of cases of coronavirus in this factory in the textile sector, the MCI reminded once again to companies working in this sector, that they must strictly follow and reinforce all the sanitary measures decreed by the state authorities ; among other things, to maintain rotation to operate with a face-to-face workforce of 30%, require workers to wear masks, establish handwashing stations for workers, and reorganize work spaces in order to establish social distancing from 1m50.

The Ministry, in its mission to support Haitian businesses, invites them to strictly observe these practices required by the government of the Republic. The MCI invites employers and workers to implement all of the government's recommendations in order to protect themselves and stop the spread of Covid-19 on national territory.
