Educational continuity: Queensland University Tele (TUQ) will occupy students remotely

Participating in the training of students in these compulsory vacation times, this is the objective that aims Mrs. Izelle Dubuisson, Rector of the Queensland University (UQ) initiator of the first educational television in Haiti following the decision of the State of close schools and universities to curb the spread of the coronavirus in Haiti. This concept includes a whole set of TV studios and other multimedia and digital platforms for producing and broadcasting educational content at a distance within the Queensland University (UQ) Haiti.

The Queensland University (UQ) wants at all costs to initiate a system of TV studios and other multimedia platforms in Haiti with the spread of the Coronavirus, unfortunately, the Queensland University Tele project (TUQ) is forced to discontinue due to lack of funding.

In Haiti, the private sector does not invest in scientific research and higher education, officials at Queensland University should seek funding elsewhere to make the Queensland University Tele project in Haiti a reality.

A stone's throw from the Queensland University (UQ) campus roundabout, stands a building with a sign that reads Télé Queensland University (TUQ) Haiti. Painted on the outside as well as on the inside of a bluish color, this building contains a very raised technical platform for the production and the diffusion of emissions and television programs dedicated to the exclusive service of education in Haiti. Founded in 2018 by Professor Izelle D Dubuisson, Rector of the Queensland University (UQ), teacher-researcher, the Queensland University TV (UQ) structure is equipped with studios and technological platforms of the latest generation. The structure does not envy the other classic television sets. Unfortunately, Queensland University has not received funding to carry out this project in Haiti, according to the statement of the vice-rector for administrative affairs at Queensland University (UQ). Even the equipment and materials have been taken away by bandits and armed gangs.

According to the Rector of Queensland University, this media support will be able to develop, over the years, with the assistance of private and public institutions, diversified television programs on citizenship, citizenship, democracy, school life, clubs of languages and science, courses for university students etc. Solidarity courses given by teachers in various disciplines, will also be made available, free of charge, to students via social networks and Haitian universities. According to him, this department chairs the education system and the media of the board of Queensland University TV (TUQ) and at the same time validates all questions related to pedagogy.

To carry out the project, the Rector of Queensland University plans to increase 10 other editing platforms and to recruit 10 fitters and cameramen. The latter will be in an internship position. These courses, broadcast on the platforms of Queensland University TV (TUQ), will also be broadcast by all of Haiti’s television channels by memorandum of understanding.
